Why I joined
Following my experience in financial services, I decided to pivot towards strategy consulting as I was keen to learn and be challenged within a stimulating environment. I chose Estin & Co for several reasons. Firstly, I wanted a career that offered a variety of challenges. Estin & Co’s sole focus on strategy allowed me to gain experience in a number of industries, each with their own unique problems. Secondly, during my interviews I found the firm’s rigorous analytical approach attractive. Finally, the boutique size of the firm meant I immediately had a level of responsibility that is not found in larger companies.
Life at the firm
As a boutique firm it has been very easy to build strong relationships with my colleagues. Everyone is kind, smart and generous with their time. Vice Presidents are always willing to take a moment and explain complex analysis, which is a major benefit of working in a smaller firm. Frequent firm-wide training sessions further benefit our development in important topics.
The daily job
As a consultant, each day presents a new and interesting challenge to work through. During a project I will undertake quantitative and qualitative analysis that provides the foundation for our recommendations to the client. It is satisfying to see our research, analysis and conclusions develop throughout a case. The variety of corporate matters we are tackling results in a steep learning curve and an opportunity to continually improve and develop.
